Project objective:

To implement digital solutions, including shared solutions, for the modernisation of study management systems and processes, ensuring a student-centred and flexible study process, and increasing the competitiveness of Latvian higher education institutions.

Main project activities:

  1. A shared solution for the study management system has been developed, including:
  • creation of a study programme catalogue;
  • creation of a study and course catalogue;
  • integration solutions with the unified register of educational documents;
  • creation of an electronic student personal file (e-file).
  1. Support solutions for the digitalisation of the study process in higher education institutions have been developed, including:
  • development of an integrated digital resource and library management system for higher education institutions to improve the efficient use, management of various information resources, and user experience;
  • creation of a unified student internship management system, ensuring a single approach to searching, applying for, and managing internships;
  • development of a study process evaluation system, including the creation of evaluation questionnaire content, ensuring timely feedback for continuous improvement of the study process and quality;
  • development of a consent management system for the use of personal data in student research, ensuring clear and transparent information about data processing and promoting participant awareness.
  1. Solutions and adaptations have been developed for integrating shared study management solutions and enabling data exchange between higher education institutions and state data systems, including the State Education Information System, the Data Distribution and Management Platform, and the European Union Single Digital Gateway.
  2. To ensure successful implementation of the second phase of the measure and effective deployment of shared solutions and unified support systems in each higher education institution:
  • alignment between the first and second phase project solutions and activities will be ensured;
  • cooperation with universities will be organised and solutions coordinated;
  • advisory support will be provided to applicants, funding recipients, and their cooperation partners in the second phase.
  1. Competence development in digital transformation has been implemented for administrative staff of higher education institutions involved in the study process (vice-rectors for studies, programme directors, digitalisation agents, and supporting staff), including skills necessary for creating, organising, managing, supervising, and evaluating digitally supported study processes and digital learning services, as well as experience exchange activities with foreign universities.
