The VPC Data Curators invite researchers, scientists, doctoral candidates, and research support staff from across Latvia to participate in an informational online webinar on the Research Data Lifecycle. During the webinar, participants will gain practical insights into the key stages of research data management, from research planning and the preparation of a Data Management Plan (DMP) to data publication and deposition in a repository.

Research data have become an increasingly important component of the scientific process, and research funders, scientific institutions, and international initiatives are placing growing emphasis on high-quality data management and compliance with the FAIR principles. Consequently, researchers are encouraged to understand not only data collection and processing activities, but also the requirements related to data documentation, preservation, sharing, and reuse.

    • Collecting High-Quality Data: Good practices for data structuring, documentation, and security during the early stages of a research project.

Participants will also be introduced to the services provided by VPC Data Curators, the opportunities offered by the DataverseLV research data repository, and future plans for strengthening the network of data curators in Latvia.

The webinar will feature a guest lecture by DDS, MSc (Radiology), PhD Sergio Uribe, who will share his professional experience and insights on the role of Open Science in contemporary research practice.
