From 24–26 November, VPC data curators Kaspars Bērziņš, Daina Kosīte, Mikus Melderis, Kristaps Oškalns and Gita Rozenberga visited Ventspils University of Applied Sciences.
Their goal was to introduce the fundamentals of research data management and to discuss with the university’s leadership possible regulations for institutional research data management.

During the visit, the data curators led several seminars covering topics such as open science, data management, the processing of sensitive data, as well as long-term data preservation and sharing. Students, researchers, and administrative staff actively participated in the seminars.

In discussions with the university management, they explored how the data curators could provide support in developing research data management guidelines and establishing an institutional research data collection in the DataverseLV repository.

Many thanks to Santa Kalvāne, Deputy Head of the Science and Development Department, for her support in organizing and hosting the visit!

Presentations from the seminars are available to all interested parties.
