Searching for the most effective digital solutions within the project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 6\u20137 May, representatives from several Latvian higher education institutions (HEIs) \u2014 R\u012bga Stradi\u0146\u0161 University (RSU), Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University, the Art Academy of Latvia, the Latvian Academy of Culture, and the J\u0101zeps V\u012btols Latvian Academy of Music \u2014 travelled to Finland on a study visit as part of Work Package 4 (WP4) \u2014 Student Internship Management \u2014 of the Digitalisation of the Study Process project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the visit, the delegation familiarised itself with the approaches to digitising student internship processes at Finnish universities \u2014 the University of Helsinki, Tampere University, Arcada University of Applied Sciences, and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences \u2014 including an examination of the solutions JobTeaser, Into, Jobiili, and Workseed currently in use. The insights gained make a significant contribution to WP4’s primary objective: developing a unified student internship management system that ensures a consistent approach to searching for, applying to, and managing internships.<\/p>\n

Drawing on the experience gained during the international visit, a knowledge transfer workshop \u2014 Finnish University Solutions for Effective Internship Management \u2014 was held at RSU on 27 May. The event brought together WP4 participants and HEI specialists. The aim of the workshop was to introduce industry professionals to Finnish higher education best practices and to stimulate discussion on the implementation of innovative solutions in Latvia.<\/p>\n

The workshop opened with RSU representative and WP4 Senior Expert in Project Management Daira Rasa Ranc\u0101ne sharing the key takeaways from the Finland study visit and presenting a summary of the digital solutions used in Finland, the organisation of student internship processes, and inter-university cooperation on internship matters. This was followed by group work, during which participants analysed opportunities to adopt elements of Finland’s internship organisation model, discussed which system features would best suit the needs of Latvian HEIs, and explored ways to strengthen collaboration between universities.<\/p>\n

“The experience of Finnish universities confirms that successful internship management is built not only on digital solutions, but also on well-considered processes, clearly defined priorities, and close cooperation between institutions,” emphasises WP4 Senior Expert D. R. Ranc\u0101ne.<\/p>\n
