A Unified Digital Platform for Organising Internships and Work Placements<\/h2>\n

Project Summary<\/strong>
\nThe project digitalises and modernises higher education administration in Latvia by developing interconnected shared solutions for all universities and colleges. It is implemented in two phases: in the first, solutions are developed and tested; in the second, all remaining higher education institutions (HEIs) join the system.<\/p>\n

\nFor students<\/strong> \u2013 more flexible, personalised studies with the option to choose courses from different universities, and greater mobility opportunities.
\nFor universities<\/strong> \u2013 reduced administrative burden, modernised study processes, stronger international competitiveness, and a broader offer of lifelong learning and micro-credentials.
\nFor employers<\/strong> \u2013 education better aligned with labour market needs, and access to accurate information about employee skills.
\nFor society<\/strong> \u2013 more accessible and higher-quality higher education, reliable data for policymakers, and closer integration into the European Higher Education Area.<\/p>\n

WP4 Objectives and Activities<\/strong>
\nThe aim of this work package is to develop a unified digital system that brings together all participants in the placement process \u2014 students, universities, and employers \u2014 within a single, transparent environment. The new system will cover the entire placement cycle: employers publish placement opportunities, students search and apply for them, agreements are prepared and signed electronically, and the progress and assessment of placements are managed digitally. The system will also support international placements, including the Erasmus+ programme, and will be compatible with European data exchange standards.<\/p>\n

Expected Outcome<\/strong>
\nThis work package will deliver tangible benefits for all parties involved. Employers will be able to post placement opportunities in one place, reaching all Latvian universities simultaneously. Students will have a clear and accessible way to search for, select, and apply for placements, and to track their tasks and assessments. Universities will gain automated reporting and real-time oversight of placement activity. Overall, the system will reduce administrative burden, increase process transparency, and improve the monitoring of placement quality \u2014 including two-way evaluation, whereby students rate their placement providers and employers rate the students.<\/p>\n<\/div>
